Schizophrenic Feedback

I am interested in feeback from both Palm users and developers regarding this software. You can contact me via email at: mankoff[at]users[dot]sourceforge[dot]net

I did not write Schizophrenic to assist the Palm cracking/warez community. I wrote it because it provides a legitimate, legal, and useful service to me. I published it because I believe in open source software. Others abusing this software does not provide me with a good enough reason to delete it.

Some developers believe I have provided the Palm community with a method to steal their product. They should know:

#1: Their product was not secure in the first place. I had five hours of Palm programming experience when I started this project. The alpha release took about 10 hours, and contained 9 lines of original code. Any security system this easy to circumvent should be redesigned.

#2: I have a question for these developers: I have seen non-nag non-lock software that uses generic-key registration. This means that (a) The software does not need to be registered and (b) All copies are registered with the same generic key.

Based upon the complexity of these products it is obvious the authors could have written any registration scheme they wanted. Yet they chose not to, and appear to continue to make a profit from their products. Why? How?
